Items To Monogram

Backpacks and lunchboxes are always a popular choice for back to school monograms or names. You can also do shirts as long as permitted by school uniform policy.  Some parents prefer to do a monogram instead of names on school items so strangers will not have the ability to call the child by name.  This is usually more of an issue for smaller children.  When doing a name for the younger ones, pick a font that is easy for them to read.  This will help them in recognizing their name and letters, etc.  Be aware of the amount of space your embroiderer has to work with, especially on lunch boxes.  You may need to go with a smaller size in order for everything to fit.  Some fonts are wider than others and take up more space.

Add Excitement

Often adding a monogram or name to back to school items can get aid in building excitement for the return to school.  Try to let them pick the font and the thread color to get them more involved.  I know it is hard give them the control but as long as the thread color shows up the item, try to go with it, they will be happier if they contribute.

In addition to thread embroidery, you can also do monograms, names, class subjects, etc. in vinyl on notebooks, folders and composition books.  Again, try to let them play a part by picking colors, fonts, etc.  This can also help in creating excitement for back to school.  Use fun, bright colors to personalize their items they will be using everyday.  There are a lot of fun choices.
